A young mom walked into EIS balancing a three-year-old boy by her side and a baby in her arms. She said the only food that she had in her apartment to feed her children that morning was a single bag of popcorn with mold growing on it. She described how she had gone through the entire bag and meticulously picked out all the pieces that had no mold on it so she’d have something, anything to feed to her hungry sons. We were able to provide her with two weeks of groceries for her sons, along with diapers, wipes, clothing, and formula.
